Coast Painting Inspired By Byron Bay Coastline – By Sarah Jane Artist

At the start of the year I was lucky enough to head up to Byron Bay for my Summer Holiday . A gorgeous on trend town which is at the Eastern most point of Australia. It was there I found my inspiration for my latest artwork. Yes, Coast Painting was inspired by the Bryon Bay Coastline.

Sarah Jane Artist At Byron Bay LighthouseOne of the tourist attractions of the area was the incredible Lighthouse, which I dare say may be a future painting. Walking away from the lighthouse cliff we were able to see the point more clearly and the white wash of sea water swirling in the shallows. The beauty of this scene really captured my attention and emotions as there was a sense of peace in the swirls of white colliding with one another to make an artwork of its own. With this beauty came the onset of the deeper darker ocean which seemed so close yet so far.

Byron Bay Coastline inspired the painting Coast By Artist Sarah JaneGiven landscapes are not something I paint often I thought I’d do an ariel view of this beautiful coast line using a neutral colour palette to express the peace stirred within. The darker grey is the ocean and the white wash a mix of grey and white giving a marbled effect. The cliff and body of land is featured in more earthy taupe tones.

This modern painting is a stunning reminder of not only the beauty of nature but how incredibly beautiful our country Australia is.

Measuring 91 x 91cm this is a peaceful calm painting that is versatile to compliment most rooms.
