Given the theme of my SALA Exhibition 2017 is “Something Just A Bit Different”, it seemed natural to continue on with the Linear range of Charcoal Paintings for the exhibit down at Henley Beach.
Using contemporary lines and following on from the previous two paintings in the range, these Paintings by Sarah Jane definately stir conversation as shapes and linear lines provide not just a different medium of artwork, but also illustrate unusual images.
To keep in line with the region of Henley Beach which is a popular beachside suburb in Adelaide, we decided to depict a woman at the beach in her bathers with her back to us as she stands in the ocean and watches the sun set.
To not detract from the deliberate chaos of lines this range is kept simple with its simple structure of black and white with the use of charcoals and white paint and provides an effective impact statement for any room.
So head down to Rubens at Henley Beach and check out this modern Sarah Jane Painting “Linear III” for the Adelaide SALA Festival.
The original painting has now sold but it is still available in either a glass print or framed print.
